2008 Volvo C30 R-Design Sport Coupe 2.0 diesel
Summary:
Nice
Faults:
Starter motor and alternator - both had to be replaced in my ownership. Not too expensive if you know where to get parts.
Driveshafts making noise - replaced both.
Bought used in 2020, the car had full service history on purchase, all oil changes essential for these engines. Do not touch an abused example.
General Comments:
Dark blue 2008 C30 Volvo - still a very nice car to look at and drive even in 2024. Bought this as an interesting second car and I always enjoy driving it.
R-Design Sport model is the best looking - sporty touches here and there, plus the interior is just stunning and still feels fresh. Very comfortable seats and all the electronics of the time.
Ride is smooth and yet still the car holds very well in corners. 2.0 diesel has plenty power and still gets 40 - 45 miles per gallon taking it slow. These engines can get troublesome and expensive if abused, but a looked after one will rarely give trouble and last for many many miles, which is why I had no problems buying this car when it already had well over 150K on it.
The C30 is well worth a look if you just want a good looking, fun to drive car that still has that classic solid Volvo feel to it.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
