1986 Alfa Romeo 75 QV 2.5 iniezione from Switzerland

Faults:

Until now I had no problems with my car, but I have to say that the former owner treated this car very well, she always parked it in a garage, didn't drive too roughly, kept in the service intervals. My car is 1986, but looks fresher than most of the newer 75s. I was lucky to get one of this state, cause they're very rare here in Switzerland. If you wanna buy one, think about the pre-owner, how they may have driven this car, cause Alfas need traditionally a lot of maintenance.

General Comments:

A good looking car which is not too expensive to buy. If you buy one you should love it, cause it needs much attention to keep it in a good state.

If you live in a city, you have to know that you'll need about 15 liters/100km, if you drive not too slow. Then the gasoline I use is 98 octane unleaded.

Personally, I take all these things on me, cause this Alfa sound, the feeling for the street and the sense for the speed beyond 140 km/h are unbeatable for me.

1986 Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo 1.8 turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

It's now done 200,000Km!

Brakes upgraded, new turbo fitted at 80,000, new exhaust manifolds at 80,000 and 160,000, 2 new petrol tanks, new exhaust system twice, second one much cheaper direct from Italy over the net, resprayed but not badly corroded, new brakes an absolute pig to replace.

General Comments:

What can I say - I've had the car since 1987 and put all but 3,000Km on the clock. The only Turbo to be registered for road use in this country, it's been the main car and the one that got relegated to the storage shed when replaced by a 164 3 litre Lusso but came out of retirement when I could no longer afford the servicing bills for the 164!

Had the suspension sorted with Spax (already has a 25mm anti roll bar and I had lowered springs fitted). Turbo really wild and presently it comes in with gusto at about 4000RPM and runs at 1.5bar under full throttle and 5500RPM - I can't imagine a stronger engine anywhere else in the Alfa range.
