General Comments:

I have three words; FUN FUN FUN. I live in Arizona and with the weather we have here It's hard not to enjoy this car. I thank my self several times on days that I drive this car. I agree with another review I read on how much the value for these cars have gone up. With Alfa coming back to US, The prices should go even higher. When I was a kid in Iran my father collected Alfa romeos. He passed away about 25 years ago and now I'd like to continue. Now, I know why he loved these cars so much.

1989 Alfa Romeo Spider 1.6 1.6 from Italy

Summary:

Old spider never surpassed by a new one

Faults:

Speedometer cable broken, changed.

Clutch pump leaks, changed.

General Comments:

It's a classic red Alfa, daily used from May to September: it's a pleasure to drive it, powerful brakes, high performances due to a powerful engine enhanced by the Weber carburettors, with a robust torque at the lower speed. Good manual gear: not a lightning, but quite fast. The live rear axle cannot beat the soft modern independent rear suspension, but it is the best one among the old cars. Fuel consumption is high only if you push hardly to the gas pedal, otherwise you can get 13 km per liter as average.
