Summary:

An excellent piece of history

None. Driving a 84 Eight daily.

General Comments:

Excellent car, drives & looks as new. Doing 22/28 MPG on LPG (equivalent). Purchased from Hanwells with a full history for £7700. Spent £4000 to make it as new.

My best car ever. Everything works. I drive it 300+ miles a week.

I haven't had the privilege of driving a Bentley, so I'm wondering how they compare to something I am familiar with, namely an XJ6. The jaguar has always bewildered me with it's seemingly impossible combination of handling and comfort.

Is a Bentley of this era a reliable XJ6? If so maybe it's my next car...

And no I haven't driven a Mercedes that I can remember, and am getting over my encounters with BMW's..: (Ick...

I bought a used Bentley Eight about 2 years ago, and after fixing a few items, it's an absolute pleasure to drive. Also, uses regular gas!

I would love to have a Bentley. I like the lines of the cars, the woodwork and leather. I can afford the car, but there is no place close to properly service them. Oh well, I may just have to set up an account with an auto transporter. LOL

I have had a Bentley Eight for half a year now, and after sorting out the few odds and ends by the local mechanic with an interest in cars, they are built with many run of the mill, tried and tested parts. So relatively easy to take care of, and Crewe really stand behind the product... But what a motorcar, highway cruising is a dream, and in city driving NY, NY is regal.

What do they say "YOU Can't not have one".

I have owned my 1991 Turbo R for 9 years. I have added 30,000 miles to the 44,000 carefully serviced miles it had covered on my acquisition. It has never 'failed to proceed!' A set of tyres, a wheel arch, a brake pipe, a fuel gauge light bulb, a steering gear valve of some kind...that's about it. A truly amazing car, which draws respect from occupants and road users alike. A simply perfect additional car for high days and holidays: every outing is an occasion!
