I bought an 86 325es for my first car back in 2000 and still regret to this day for ever letting her go! I happily agree about the car handling like a go cart because I live on some of the curviest roads in Arkansas. My buddy had a newer Subaru all wheel drive which are known for their performance and handling... he couldn't keep up with me at all on the twisty back roads! These little cars are superb.

I own a 1986 325es and I love it!! It was first my sister's, but she did not take care of it, and when I got it, it was only running on 4/6 cylinders. I replaced the distributer cap, rotor, ignition wires, and spark plugs, and that got one cylinder back and I simply tapped all the fuel injectors and I had 6 cylinders running. Now it's so fast and fun!!!

I own a 1986 325es. Bought it from bank as a bank repo in 1988 and it had about 30k miles on it. It now has 211k and have only had to replace water pump (twice)... it still runs great and looks even better... gets compliments all the time... for the last 10 or so years I have kept it in storage during the winter months (we live in Colorado) and drive it maybe 3-4 times during the summer (also own a 1975 convertible bug for the summer to share with my bimmer... I have owned a 1986 BMW 325es since it was new in 1986. That car has a heart of gold. It has seen a lot and still starts better after sitting than my 2000 Z3. I am thinking about selling it, but after reading the different comments on this site, I believe I will keep it and fix it up a bit. It is rather beat up, but not too much. Needs a paint job, but don't know who I can trust to not rip me off and who will do a good job and I need a new front spoiler. If anyone knows where I can get one, I would really appreciate it. The car has over 150K miles at which the odometer stopped working and I just haven't replaced it. Anyhow, I am glad I have kept it all these years.
