2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL 3.8L V6 from North America

Summary:

Best car I've ever had!

Faults:

ABS harness. Harness was already damaged when I bought the car, got it repaired, then it broke again a couple months later. I've just left it alone.

Engine eats through oil, which apparently is very common with this series of the 3.8L V6 (Series III). I always keep a quart of oil in my trunk for when the "low oil" indicator comes on the dash.

General Comments:

I love this car, and purchased it for a steal ($6500 with only 68k at the time, car was 8 years old). The car is now 10 years old and so far has been extremely reliable. The 3.8L V6 really is a fantastic engine and can last 200k+ if you take care of it. Hopefully mine will!

The car has a very floaty ride. Lots of body roll during turns and handling is a little sloppy, but it's an old school Buick, what do you expect.

Extremely comfortable seats.

Acceleration is just right for the size and kind of car. Obviously it's poorer when the A/C is on.

Very elegant styling. Mine's red with tan leather and the Chrome Package. I get compliments on it once in a while!

2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL 308 FIJ from North America

Summary:

Bad to worse

Faults:

Purchased my 2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL on a lease for three years, do not plan on buying it.

First 1770 miles, noticed the engine was using oil, took it back to the Buick dealer, also called Buick customer dept, Detroit, was told this is normal, Can't believe they won't do anything..!!!

My third Buick since 1995, probably my last GMC car. Then they wonder why they're not doing well.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Buy yourself a new Avalon. Not only will you love it, but it's also an American car, unlike that Buick that was built in Canada.

Yeah, an American Toyota. Does Toyota sound like an American name to you, it doesn't to me. That's because it is a Japanese company. I don't care if the car is manufactured here, it is a product of a Japanese company. The Canadian Buick does a lot more for the American economy than the Avalon, don't try to fool yourself. Anyway, they are very boring cars and very over priced.
