1989 Buick LeSabre Limited 3.8L V6 from North America
Summary:
A mid sport luxury bargain at $1200 Canadian Dollars
Faults:
The front power windows are very slow, but the rear power windows are normal.
The antenna doesn't go down any more.
General Comments:
The car handles like a dream.
I like how responsive the accelerator is.
For an old car it really could pick up speed on the freeway.
I passed the 140 kilometer per hour speedometer reading and had no problems.
The engine is really quiet, but as soon as you press the accelerator growls like a lion and jumps like a horse.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I agree to most of the comments available for the Buick Lesabre Limited edition 1988 & 1989.
I bought 1988 model last year at 193000km and have driven further to 209000km in just one year, initially had no confidence and reliability on product, but soon realized that it is one of the most comfortable car manufactured by the company.
Yes of course I do agree the heating problem of the car which is unacceptable for a driver like me specially living in Canada, antenna malfunctioning, the dash board glue worn-off, the power locking system gets freezes as the mercury drops below -8 C.
I would be happy If some one helps me in finding cure of heating problem of Buick lesabre.
Last I would give some advise to the holder of the which I do and enjoy ride.
1- I always use 10W -30 Oil even in Canadian winters with some addition of engine treatment Oils such as "Brad's" and "STP" product. It make engine most comfortable even at reduced oil level.
(Try it you will feel the difference gonna cost you 5 to 9 dollars difference on oil expense, but it worth specifically those who drive on Highways)
2- Use fuel injector cleaner to clean the fuel system on a regular interval basis such as twice in a month.
Try it. saving on gas bill is yours, but do not forget to check and change the catalytic convertor of your car ofcourse use good quality spark plugs.
I have test the my car on highways at 120KmPH many times it is fantastic and I love it. Oh the fuel efficiency is like 9-10 km per liter after taking all the above steps.
Good luck to all Buick lesabre owners.
One final thing I have decided that whenever I will go for another car it will buy "BUICK lesabre" only.

Hi, try using 5-30 weight oil. It works better in all around driving temperatures. Synthetic oil is the best. Thank you.

I have a 1989 Two Door Buick Lesaber and I agree with the acceleration that the older car gives. but I don't believe that the car is able to growl like a lion. I love hearing that other owner's are as happy as I am.
