My 2000 Buick LeSabre rear driver's window got stuck down while in DC a few weeks ago (very, very hot weather). I waited until it cooled down at night and managed to get it to go back up again. I am afraid to put the window down again!

I have a 2001 Buick Le Sabre that has been nothing but a thorn in my side... all four power windows have been replaced... manifold problem fixed.. and now its in the shop again for transmission problems. I cannot afford these problems and I will be buying a new car and it will not be a Buick.

My Dad has a 2002 LeSabre having the very exact same problem. Can anyone post a good "how to" fix using pictures? I am not sure if it is the regulator or bad cables or the plastic part that is bad on this one.
Thanks.

Just to add to the list... A few months ago we inherited a 2000 Le Sabre which was really well cared for... A few weeks ago, the front passenger window wouldn't operate with the car in Park, only in Drive. And... today the rear driver side window is stuck open. Thanks for all the recommendations so far. If anyone has a link to relevant diagrams to take this thing apart, please post.

I have a 99 Buick Regal LS and I have experienced the same problems with the power window motor/regulators. I have replaced each door window motor/regulator once, with the exception of the drivers window. I have replaced this unit four times. The last unit was replaced within twelve days of installation. The window had been powered down three times before failure. All failures concerned the plastic routing guide for the cable.
Many, many years ago I promised to never buy another Chevrolet. I now make that promise about Buick and maybe the entire GM line.

Same as everyone, I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre with four broken window regulators. Done with GM!!!

GM is using these cable assemblies in nearly every vehicle including trucks. They are junk! Once the plastic piece breaks and the cables twist inside the pulley, there is no reliable fix. Aftermarkets are cheaper - $80 - $120 depending on vehicle, but they don't last long either.

I too have a 2000 Buick Le Sabre and have replaced all four windows and currently having trouble with one the second time around. At around $500.00 per window to have it fixed, needless to say, this will be my first and last Buick.

I own a 2001 Buick Lesabre. One week ago the back passenger side window made a popping sound. It will not go up even if we try to pull it up. Two days ago the back drivers side window got stuck in the down position. We pulled it up and wedged a piece of plastic to keep it up. Does anyone know how to take the panels off?

I bought my 2000 Buick Le Sabre last April with 57K miles on it. Now it has 63K, and I just had my first of probably many window failures. My rear passenger window went out last week. I have a waranty on it, so I should be able to get it fixed for $90 bucks. If it nots one thing then it's something else :D.

Well, I think I've got you all beat. :) I have a 2004 Buick LeSabre, and not only do my windows not work, I also have the following problems:
1. Press on brake and volume on stereo turns down :)
2. Press door lock button, and the power driver seat moves to the furthest back and down position
3. Unlock or lock car with key fob, and trunk pops open. Also does it on it's own periodically - usually while I'm inside work or the store...
4. Seat heater does not work
5. Window lock button does not work (doesn't matter because windows won't go up or down anyway...)
6. Automatic seat position button (the programmed ones on the driver's door) does not work.
I've had this car for two years and have put VERY little mileage on it. Nice. I'm going back to Toyota.

Just as everyone states the LeSabre is a nice car indeed, but I must say that the older buyers rarely drove the cars unless it was on a Sunday going to church and/or Denny's, Luby's... I too have 3 windows now that have stopped working I can hear the motor but the windows remain in the drop position... I love my LeSabre but GM has had one too many issues regarding this problem for to say they still refuse to assist the owners in replacing the faulty parts.

I owned a 2001 Buick LeSabre and had six window regulators replaced. No one ever rode in the back seat nor used the rear windows. My mother-in-law bought the same model and now has two broken windows. I called the Buick Complaint Center two and one half years ago and they warrantied the windows for the remaining time I owned the car. I sold my Buick and bought a Ford. I am now in the process of trying to find that phone number for my 78-year old mother-in-law to call them for her. I don't know how class-action law suits work, but if anyone does, please post for all Buick LeSabre owners.

Wow, I thought I was alone. I bought this 2000 LeSabre in 2005 and have had all of the windows fail. After all this time, no one has gotten GM to get off their azz? Wow.

I bought my 2000 Buick new and like everyone else, the window regulators started failing soon as the warranty expired. I had two replaced and then started doing them myself to save money. All four have been replaced at least once. The front drivers side has been replaced 3 times. I wrote Buick and talked to the Customer service people. They said they would give me $1000.00 off on a new Buick. What a joke. The dealership told me the reason they were going out was because people sit in the car and play with the windows. What an insult! No more GM for me. Just bought a new Toyota.

Bought a new 2000 Buick LeSabre & as soon as warranty ran out started having window reg. problems. I am now replacing the replacements, six at last count there are no originals left. I have now become an expert at ripping these things out but that is not my cup of tea. I plan on dumping this vehicle & switching to another motor car co. General Motors is history.
Yours truly...George.

Again another problem with my 2001 Buick LaSabre. Lost transmission at 67000 miles, throtle regulator leaked, brakes went out early, cruise control switch failed, now the L rear door window regulator broke. Non of these repairs did Buick assist even when in warranty. Like the car, but not the problems. Buick I do not believe is one that backs up its product and so now I am considering purchasing another new car, but NOT a GM product.
