Summary:

Great 2nd car, fells like a real Italian car

Faults:

Radio Speakers all had to be rebuilt (Cadillac allante club very helpful)

Idle control motor went bad and car stalled (90.00 dealer part)

Several convertible top issues (club)

Window stuck in down position (dealer still had parts)

Now have oil leak I think my pan is bad.

General Comments:

This is the most fun you can have without spending a whole lot of cash. the local chapters out there will help you keep this baby alive.

It does need some TLC, but it is a very rewarding ride.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Cadillacallanteclub.com is very helpful when it comes to hard to find parts. They got my braking system parts after Cadillac told me that I was out of luck, since they don't make them anymore.

I have a Cadillac Allante 1989. Some times when driving across town, the car will not start. After sitting for hour or two, the car will start up.

About a year ago, you said you had a problem with your Allante not starting. I have similar problem. Did you ever figure it out?

I would recommend looking into the VATS key bypass.

I had a similar problem with my 95 Seville. It turned out to be the fuel pump. It would show normal pressure when randomly checked, and my mechanic just happened to check it when it was acting up and the pressure dropped very low, and of course it stalled (if it sat for a time it would start).

She's a killer

Faults:

I have had to replace the muffler.

I had to replace the thermostat last summer.

Drivers window is sticking, but it's an easy fix.

General Comments:

This is one of the fastest front wheel drive production cars on the road, and just eats the road up.

For the money you lay out for one, you couldn't spend it better. As previous reviews say, it's a one of a kind and even at it's current age, still turns heads.

Why does my car engine light and oil come on. the oil light blinks when I stop and goes off when I pull off. and there is a funny smell coming from the bottom of the car as if it is burning.

General Comments:

This car rocks! A real head turner. Although this car is over 10 years old, it has enough power to smoke most cars off the line and enough luxury to make you not care that you can ;-)

Can out run almost any car in its time and handles amazing.

BMW in the 80's sucked... even the early 90's... ones looked bad.
