2000 Cadillac DeVille Northstar V8 from North America
Summary:
If you're going to be a chauffeur, might as well drive a Cadillac
Faults:
This car has been wonderful.
I also have a 97 Deville.
The 2000 has been good; only one problem when I hit water at 42000 miles, the transmission would not shift, the dealer rewired the speed control switch and it ran perfectly until 67500 miles, where it was replaced again, so at 8 years and 67800 miles I have spent 480 dollars on it.
I have driven a Cadillac since I was 16 years old, and will never buy anything else except for another Expedition, which has been the best truck I ever owned (780 dollars in 205000 miles).
General Comments:
Good acceleration, although I add between 2-3 quarts of oil in between oil changes, and I have never had the front end vibration like most people seem to have.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a Cadillac 2000 Deville DTS, in which I had and am having the same exact problems. This was my first American made car. I love the look of the Cadillac cars, but maintenance is just a problem.
