Hi. I am experiencing the same problem with my 2013 model. Also just a month or two out of warranty. Have you managed to have it repaired?

Same here. Cat converter busted at about 50k. Just out of the apparent warranty. Service from dealers and HO is terrible. But on the other hand, just did a 60k service. Only problem is a small oil leak and the cat still needs to be removed.

Have it taken out. Any exhaust place does it. Remember there are 2! I had it done. Much better power and better fuel consumption. No worries about sensors et cetera, the car runs smooth.

You can take that cat out at any time. I worked at an exhaust shop for years and we removed them all the time. 99% of the time the customers all said the car had more power since its removal. Depending where the part is will effect the price to remove it. We used to charge about R250 +/- 2years ago.

To take away a catalyzer for good, it's actually easy. I did it before RSA had unleaded fuel. Did it on a Jeep Cherokee 4lt, a Porsche 244, and a Mercedes 350 SL. The only thing now is it must use 95 fuel, because of the lead. When taking out the catalyzer, make sure you take out the sensor. That same sensor must be put back in the exhaust system; you'll see that the car will run normally with no need to replace any other part....

Hi there,
I have a Chery Tiggo 2013 and my vehicle has just gone for its 45000km service at 43000km as it was making a noise and has been sluggish. Only to be told my catalytic converters need replacing and it is out of warranty by 4 months and 3000km. This is ludicrous as well. What has the outcome of yours been? I am located in KZN, and which dealer are you dealing with.
