1986 Chevrolet Astro 4.3L V6 from North America

Summary:

It keeps goin, and goin..

Faults:

Battery needed to be replaced.

Had no rear brakes.

General Comments:

That's all that was bad with the car! I got it for $350 and used it for a month, sold it for $300. $50 to use a car for a month! That's a great deal.

Battery went out one day, but that's it. Started every time. Very strong engine and trans. I have had 4 of these vans. If I was to say anything, it's that these are the BEST minivans, most reliable, best space.

1986 Chevrolet Astro 4.3L from North America

Summary:

Awesome little van!!

Faults:

Valve stem guides at 270,000 km.

Drivers door and rear door exterior handles broke off, but they were cheap to fix.

Water pump at 320,000 km.

Started burning oil at 300,000 km.

General Comments:

This little gem never let us down once in the 15 years we owned her. Not towed once, and started every morning even in the cold Canadian winter. Only gave it a lower comfort mark because we didn't have A/C.

An amazing little van with plenty of power from the 4.3L V6. Sold it to a local janitorial company in 2004 and still see her on the road in 2009. She must have close to 500,000 km on her by now, and she still goes out every day. GM should buy this van back and replicate it.
