It took 2 miles to inspire second thoughts??I would have driven it another 2 miles back to the dealer and got my money back/tore up the finance agreement.
I did it one time when a dealer lied about a cars service history and gave me the service book of a different car because he didn't have the correct one.

Your review is right on. If the people who read your reviews read the rest they would see that the Blazer has a very consistent record of sporadic malfunctions. Mine has a very hard shift, no gas gage, sagging driver door, bad ball joints etc.

My 1989 4.3 blazer engine has 217,000 miles and still runs very well. However, it is now having some over heating problems. I guess neglecting the radiator flush for over ten years may have had something to do with it...

My 1997 Chevy Blazer is a a cancer eating away at my bank account. An absolute disaster of a truck. 4 Transmissions and is bucking like a mule again. Electrical system replaced. Charging system a disaster. Can't even get a reading for my omissions test. Ball joints and struts replaced more times than I can count. Air conditioning keeps going out every year. 4WD motor went out after using only twice. I could go on. Please listen to me... Do not buy this truck. If you already own one and say to yourself "But I can't afford to sell it", SELL IT NOW!

The Chevy 4.3 really is a great engine with many decades of refinement thanks to it's big brother the 350. It is a well know fact that you can abuse these engines and still see well over 100,000 miles if not 200,000 like mine my first one. Overheating due to lack of antifreeze is the only thing I've ever found that can hurt these engines, including repeatedly running 7500 miles on cheap oil and running low on oil!
Sounds to me like you had a lot of problems stemming from a very bad electrical system, which now-a-days controls many of the important functions of your engine. Or possibly you really did get a lemon of an engine or maybe the person who owned it before you seriously abused it. I can't know for sure, but that's my experience.
