2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7L LS1 V8 from North America

Summary:

Overall great, cheap, reliable performance car

Faults:

Nothing mechanical has gone wrong.

Factory speakers blow VERY easy.

General Comments:

Very quick car, about 0-60 in 5.3 seconds.

Has KONI adjustable shocks (modification) on all 4 corners, handles VERY stiff.

Reliable, fast transportation. Good looking.

Expensive on gas, V8 likes premium fuel. 21 mpg city 26 highway with automatic.

DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER. Biggest ripoffs. Horrible service.

2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS Convertible 5.7 liter LS2 from North America

Summary:

Exactly what I had hoped for.

Faults:

No problems at all.

This car is a gem to own and drive.

General Comments:

One of the most powerful cars on the street when it came out, but now there are many vehicles with 300+ horsepower.

Still, it's extremely capable and lots of fun with 6 speed transmission, yet still relatively economical to own and drive.

6th speed overdrive results in 2500 rpm at 90 mph, which = 23 mpg using cruise.

Very comfortable on long trips, was able to put in 950 miles in one day.

2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS 5.7 liter LS1 from North America

Summary:

Its very fast, good looking, and not many on the road.

Faults:

My rear hatch release does not always work properly.

General Comments:

I absolutely love this car. It is very quick, and the LS1 engine is so impressive. From response to top end speed, this car has it all.

This car is an eye catcher. Everywhere I go, someone turns their head or asks me about the car. The ram air hood is sharp and actually functional unlike the Mustang's.

There is no greater feeling than when a Mustang or "4-banger" Japanese car with a big pipe on it thinks they have a fast car... until you blow there doors off!

I recommend this car to anyone who wants a very fast car that loves modifications and is not that expensive. The biggest problem is finding one of these rare breeds.

Man do I wish they bring back the "camaro"

2000 Chevrolet Camaro V6 with 5 Speed transmission from North America

Summary:

I was worried this car had a lot of miles when I bought it, I changed my mind. This car looks, feels

Faults:

I bought the car with 67,000 miles on it. It needed a new battery, the original one was still in it and I started having problems starting the car. I also replaced the brakes which, too, were the original brakes. The car runs like a top! I passed California's smog test with flying colors. I love this car it runs great, starts right up, the motor is quiet. Transmission feels solid. I love to drive it. I get great gas mileage and I drive it fast. I have plenty of leg room and the seats are comfortable for my back.

General Comments:

The air conditioning stopped working and will not hold freon.

The hatchback window does not have rear defrost, yet the side view mirrors are not placed out far enough to be used when backing up with a frosted rear window.

The radio antenna does nothing for reception. I removed it and my reception remained as before,-no better, no worse.

I am the envy of all my friends because I have a "Cool Car"! No T-tops, No Convertible, No V8, just a beautiful car. That runs solid, smooth, with quick pick-up & great power.

67,000 miles really isn't that much, especially on the 6 cylinder. I have a 93 Camaro with a 6 cylinder, and I'm at 144,000 miles, so you've got another 70,000 to go...

2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS 5.7 V8 from North America

Summary:

Amazing Engine and Reliability

Faults:

My driver's side door has had a lot of problems. Clear coat failure, power window dead, power locks dead, it's just this door.

My hood had to be repainted due to paint failure from bubbling. This is a black Camaro so it's not always easy to match. The dealer had to do it twice, but they did make good on it reluctantly. Maybe because I've bought three cars from them.

Brakes are the worse thing on this car, the front set needs to be adjusted every 15,000 miles or so due to it's enormous weight.

The interior could be a little nicer for 32,000$. It was a sad to see the same stock radio in my Camaro SS that a generic Cavalier gets.

General Comments:

The car itself is the SS model and it's gorgeous, I don't think even the Corvette or Viper look as nice, they're too small. The Camaro is big and FAST.

Amazing engine, great speed. Handling could be better, it's a little sloppy, but you are pushing 3,500 pounds in the front so the car is quick, but feels it's weight. Do not expect it to do well in the snow, but you're really paying for the amazing engine.
