1992 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 V6 3.0 from North America

Summary:

A fast, fun car

Faults:

I had to replace my roof lining because it was sagging.

My idle had to be replaced.

My wiper motor had to be replaced.

My power window motor went. It was one hundred dollars for a new one.

There was a crack in my brake line.

General Comments:

This car has some great pickup!

It is a fun car to drive.

It isn't the most reliable car I have ever owned, but certainly the most fun to be in!

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier VL 2.2L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Reliable car and well worth the money, never breaks down!

Faults:

The alternator went bad at 155,000 miles.

The head gasket blew at 123,000 miles.

The battery went bad at 95,000 miles.

The water pump went bad at 145,000 miles.

The serpentine belt needed changing at 85,000 miles.

Brakes needed changing several times in the car's history, including the rotors.

The cooling fan went bad at 145,000 miles.

The windshield wiper motor went bad at 150,000 miles, when the car was 8 years old.

The upper radiator hose sprung a leak in it (and needed changing) at 120,000 miles.

And that's it. All of these happened one time each in the car's history, and never needed assistance again.

General Comments:

The 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier has served me very well, and has been the most reliable car I've ever owned!

It has had only small problems occur with it. 1 big problem did occur, and that was when the head gasket blew.

Other than that, the car has been inexpensive to own and it has gotten me to where I want to go, and without any worries.

Good engine under the hood, as well as good power. The car is 10 years old now and has never broke down on me.

188,000 miles are currently on it and it's still reliable!

You are so right about Cavaliers!!! I have had 3! The one I have now is a 1992 and has over 200,000 and it is in need of repairs, but runs wonderful. I am putting the first shocks and struts on it this month. Brakes wearing out has been our only real occurring problem and that is our fault because we need new rotors from abuse. I am looking for my fourth!!!

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier VL/RS 2.2 L from North America

Summary:

Superb compact car at a great price

Faults:

I've had to have the heater/AC controls fixed when I first bought it, but those were minor problems.

I had to replace the clutch, radiator, and a rear brake system.

The bottom half of both the doors started to show some rust, but very little. I had the doors repainted to fix that problem. I also added a wing to the rear to give it a custom look.

General Comments:

I only paid 2 grand for it, and I put exactly that amount back into it for repairs.

Overall though, this car is excellent. It has proven itself to be very reliable. It is one of the best cars I've ever owned.

I have a 1994 Cavalier R/S. It is a blast to drive. Nothing better than a stick shift in a small car like this. Small and plenty of power. Very fun to drive.

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier RS 2.2 liter 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Isn't it adorable

Faults:

I was T-boned in my back passenger corner over 2 years ago. All I did was bend out the fender, took the insurance money, and now drive it with a large dent in the side.

At 100000 the front brake lines needed to be replaced, and not too long after that I replaced the brake pads.

Replaced valve cover gasket (no biggy) last week.

Beginning to rust, but when washed it still looks beautiful.

I also have a short in the switch for the lights, blinkers, and cruise.

General Comments:

I have had this car for 3.5 years, in that time I have figured I've invested a total of less than $500, and that's including any maintenance, oil changes, and gas.

It was my first car and I treated it very rough (Decent Off-Roading Ability) and it held up great.

I travel 4 hours to school, and go home nearly every other weekend, and that car is very trustworthy.
