I have a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. It's a great car. I put a little money into it, nothing wrong with it, it is how you maintain your car.

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z-24 2.4 DOHC from North America

Summary:

Reliable everyday car with some good power

Faults:

The belt broke at 175000 miles ($13.00 to fix) and the clutch is just starting to show wear, but interior is still in perfect condition.

General Comments:

This car is awsome at cornering I can drive 40 around a 25 MPH corner like nothing.

For the power of the car it is pretty good if you have a manual the automatic takes just a little bit longer to get up and go.

Interior is suprisingly really comfortable and roomy, the back seats are OK for space, but its hard to get bigger people in the back.

Trunk is big. I have two 12-inch subs and there is still a lot of room left to put stuff.

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier RS 2.2L from North America

Summary:

Chevrolet Cavaliers are junk

Faults:

I have had to replace all the running gear parts in the front end 3 times before it reached 185,000 miles.

The automatic transmission just started to act up and won't shift right.

I went from getting almost 37 miles per gallon to about 23 miles per gallon with no explanation.

I have replaced the EGR valve and the millage is still about 23 per gallon.

General Comments:

This is the worst car I have ever owned.

The fact that I have to worry weather or not I will make it to my destination when ever I get behind the wheel doesn't really settle well.

I have owned some clunkers in my day, but this is by far the worst.

In 3 years of ownership I have dumped more than $3700.00 into it.

I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy.

$3700 in a few years, that's nothing, we have a 95 chevy Corsica and we have dumped over 8 grand into it in just over a year.I do admit, it is a 13 year old car, but come on,the good part is that it's built like a tank, it has 169,000kms.

Dude, if you put $8,000 into a Corsica that has under 200kms, then YOU are the one that should be writing a nasty review! That kind of money I would put into a good truck or something, but a Corsica? Come on LMFAO.

Yeah no kidding, 8 grand, it looks like its made out of old tank parts, not built like one though...

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 2.4 DOHC Quad 4 from North America

Summary:

Best $5000 I've Ever Spent

Faults:

Alternator 201 000.

General Comments:

Absolutely love my z24.

Has very good pick up and suprisingly good passing power on the highway for such a little car.

It sat in the driveway for over a week in -25 weather not plugged in and one shot it was up and running, love how dependable it is. its suprisingly good in the snow specially out here in sask with all the snow. not a huge fan of how fast the ABS kick in.

But over all I love my z24 the look the speed everything about it. I don't care what people say about cavaliers I love mine.

If you paid $5,000 for a '98 in '07, then you paid too much.

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan 2.2 liter from North America

Summary:

This is the best car I have ever owned and will continue to own

Faults:

Water Pump, $189.00, 155,000 miles.

Heater Core, $400.00, 147,000 miles.

General Comments:

I love this car, it is a very safe car and runs whenever I need it to. It took me cross-country several times and ran better than most of the 4-wheels drives in the snow.

This car is very easy to work on for the small things, like tune ups, oil changes, brake jobs, and fuel filter change outs.

The only bad thing about it is, when I have to take it to the shop for repairs, the bill runs in the hundreds of dollars.

I would recommend this car to anyone. Cheap on insurance and for gas. 40 miles per gallon, and about $85.00 a month for full coverage for insurance.
