Faults:

Clutch and flywheel, very expensive at well over £1500 to repair.

Mysterious breakdown, would not start one day. Replaced battery, got the thing going but intermittently still sometimes will not start.

There is more, but it is too depressing to think about and not enough room in this fault section.

Engine now sounding rough and I just do not trust this car. Had full history when I bought it, every oil change, and I continued to drive carefully and look after this car, but it still let me down more than any car, and I have only had it a year and spent thousands on it, and it still isn't right.

General Comments:

It's pretty comfortable and performs well. It also does 50 mpg. That is all the positive things about this car.

Everything else is negative; cheap looking interior, poor reliability, poor resale value.

LT model is common spec, has all the electrics you would expect from a 2010 car, nothing special. Looks good on the outside though and I like the wheels.

Now I know what you are gonna say, I bought an older car and should not expect it to be perfect, but the fact is I have had much older and higher mileage cars than this, and they all served me well for many years and never gave too much trouble. This Cruze on the other hand... one year and it has emptied my wallet.

Just a mediocre car with poor reliability. Maybe a petrol one might be more reliable - this car has had the typical diesels faults, not exclusive to this car to be fair. But what makes GM think they can sell a cheap nasty car like the Cruze in the UK and compete in an already competitive market that has cars like the Ford Mondeo, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, and so on which are already the class leaders and better cars in every way.

I'm selling it soon and if no one wants to buy it I am cutting my losses and scrapping it and getting something else, and I will avoid this car if I see any for sale; thankfully they are rare here in the UK.
