1999 Chevrolet Malibu 2.4 from North America
Summary:
Awesome
Faults:
I have been very pleased with my 99 Malibu. I had bought it in 1998 and today, 2006, she has 167,000 miles on her.
The only problems that I have had was the brake lighting system, along with electrical and hub bearings. I have always used the rule of thumb to change oil regularly, and very surprisingly have only done one tune up, keep in mind she is a four cylinder!
General Comments:
I'm very happy, and if I would have known how great this car was going to be, I would have gotten two.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Just wait until you hit 65,000 miles; then you will have some serious problems. This car is a great example why Chevrolet is on the edge of bankruptcy. Also, cars such as the Venture, Blazer, Impala and Cavalier have had serious mechanical problems over the last five or six years. Head gaskets blowing at 50,000 miles, constant brake replacement, transmission problems, etc. I would recommend that if you would to buy a Chevrolet product, buy one from the 70's or 80's. I would gladly take a Chevette (which was not a very good car) from the 1980's, than any Chevrolet built today.
