1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 3.0 from North America
Summary:
Great car with passenger issues
Faults:
Needed standard tune up at 90,000.
The passenger window will not roll up from the driver side, but will roll down.
The auto locks don't work on the passenger side.
A/C went out.
General Comments:
This car has shown great quality.
I love the MPG.
Driving it 500 miles and still have a little under a quarter of a tank was a pleaser.
It is peppy when it needs to be, Just needs a little R&R because it is getting to be nine years old.
I would defiantly buy another one if this one finally gives in, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

This comment is from an auto repair professional: You always hear the crying from those who run there cars in the ground and expect them to last forever without performing any required maintenance when needed. I bet you followed the manufacturers scheduled servicing, you know, that little book that comes in the glove box of new cars? There included so the owner can know when to service the coolant system to clean out old anti-freeze to prevent sludge build up which leads to improper cooling, and other various servicing. You said you had a problem with lower intake gasket? You're not alone there pal, it is a poor gasket to start with, but fixing it correctly once and you won't have that problem again. This advise is not only for the Monte Carlo, but for all makes and models, service them and you will get more use and pleasure out of your car.
