2010 Chevrolet Silverado LT 5.3 from North America

Summary:

Like a rock!

Faults:

Back right bumper started to show rust around 14,000 kms. Dealer replaced it no problem, they said it was from the exhaust when it's new?

At a cold start, the truck sometimes has a loud tick sound, then quickly goes away.

General Comments:

This is a real nice truck to drive. It handles great, can get to 100km/h pretty quick, and has an awesome sound when doing so. The LT model doesn't have the Bose sound system, but the speakers are still decent.

Its Bridgestone tires are great in the snow, BUT they pick up every little rock, then fling them off when picking up speed, which doesn't really bug me that much, but it must make the cars behind me go crazy.

This truck pulls great; I've hauled wood, hay wagons, house trailers, and it never slowed me down.

The cabin is nice, but I find there isn't much storage space. I used to have a 98 Silverado, which had the over head console, and it made much better space with items such as maps or sun glasses. The seats are very comfy; I could drive all day and not be bothered.

Other than the early rust signs, this truck looks and drives awesome!

2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4.3L from North America

Summary:

A comfortable truck that gets the job done.

Faults:

New truck, so nothing has gone wrong yet.

General Comments:

This 2WD, V6 truck gives plenty of power if you do not tow trailers. I use it for the construction trades, and always have it loaded with tools or lumber.

I do not care if I am not first off the line, it is a work truck and gets me from point A to B without a problem. This is a bare bones work truck with no options but still comes with AC and an AM/FM radio.

Unlike my 2004, 2500HD Silverado this truck has a 350 Chevy block with two cylinders cut off. It has the cast iron cylinder block and heads of a 350, a durable engine. The low GVW makes it cheaper to insure and lowers my EZ Pass toll bill.

2010 Chevrolet Silverado LT 5.3 from North America

Faults:

I bought this vehicle in April 2010. After 6 months of engine surging, trans clunking (6 speed), radio fading in and out, and trying to keep the lousy material GM covered the seats with clean, I traded for a Ram. Huge difference.

Thanks for listening.

2010 Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne 4.8 from North America

Summary:

Good truck, but I think GM is cutting corners

Faults:

Day after we got it home, airbag service light came on. Fixed.

Hottest day of the summer (105 deg.F), a message came on the dash saying "drive with caution, ice possible" and the air would NOT work. Fixed.

Airbag service light came on again. New sensor installed.

General Comments:

This truck is a good truck. The little stuff aside, it pulls like crazy, sounds great, gets good enough mileage on gas, and we have made the back end squat more than a few times with no complaints from the power train.

Comfortable? Yes. Great stereo? Yes. We have the Cheyenne package, so it has the hands free and stuff built in, which is necessary living in Ontario Canada now with the new fines.

Wish it had some more storage spots though.

"Good truck, but I think GM is cutting corners"

Yep, this tends to happen to companies that are on the brink of failure. They do cut corners. How they are rated so high is beyond me.

Likely the lower cost to own, better people carrying ability, better fuel mileage, better ride, better handling, and far better warranty. That is why I did not buy a Tundra.
