I have a 2003 Trail Blazer XT V8. I just found that the security system doesn't work. Went through all the steps by trying it manually, and it still doesn't alarm, nor do the headlights flash. The security light comes on when you turn the key, and also it is on for a few seconds when I start it. I've checked and there is no fuse listed for it. Can it be disabled by pushing the button on the dash to reset other things?
I had a fellow paint it and perhaps he did something to the Passlock? I know he pushed the button on the dash to move the seat back and forth; even had it in French. When it is locked for the night, someone can try to open the door. No alarms, nor headlight flashing. Can anyone give me an idea so I don't have to take it to a dealer?

I had the same problem with my 2002 Trailblazer; there is an emergency key release right under the ignition. There's a plastic cap covering it; just stick a screwdriver or something small in the hole and push up - the key will come out. The problem with mine ended up being a bad fuse in the rear fuse box underneath the driver's side rear seat. Hope this was helpful. Good luck.

2003. Twice now, the engine keeps running after the ignition is turned off & the key removed. Banged around on the steering column & finally shut off. If it's the ignition switch, what kind of a job is it to replace, for this old school 'ole boy???

I have 2002 Trailblazer. These cars are junk. Do not buy a Trailblazer, you'll be sorry. It can't be fixed, the problem is a poorly designed 4 wheel drive system. Constantly searching on its own for 4 wheel drive. When you need 4wd, it won't shift into 4wd. Do yourself a favor and buy a real truck, this thing is not a true 4wd.

I have a ticking noise that starts and stops, and had no idea what it was. I'm glad I read this, because now I can get it fixed without having to take it to the shop hopefully.
