1995 Chrysler Cirrus LX V6 2.5liter from North America

Summary:

Reliable and Trustworthy, has stood up to big punishment

Faults:

Brakes (Rear & Front)

Brake Cylinders (Rear)

Brake Line From Cylinder that goes into wheel well (Don't Know Name)

Water Pump.

Struts (Rear)

Stabilizer Bar (Rear)

Rear Brake Lights (Electrical)

Emergency Brake Light (Dash)

General Comments:

I bought this car used.

I drove it sparingly for the 1st year and half. (to work in Morn, Home in Evening, Weekend trips around town etc.)

Circa Early 2004, Started delivering pizzas in it. I must say that I have beaten this ride down. And I live in a very hilly area with inclines of up to 60 degress.

The car has handled it well with only routine things breaking.

But now the water pump is shot and I can't drive it for more than 10 miles without the Temp gauge going through the roof (@ 94000 miles) >

I have also had the problem, mentioned elsewhere here, of the Engine running @ 5-6ooo rpm's to do 50 Miles an Hour. When it should be @ only 2-3000 for that speed.

Also, My Emergency Brake Light on the Dash is Continually Light, Whether it's engaged, or not.

All in All, This has been a relatively reliable vehicle for me and I have abused it pretty bad.

I would buy another Chrysler, but a new one.

I intend to replace the Water Pump and continue driving this car. It's also very comfortable by the way. =)

1995 Chrysler Cirrus LXi 2.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

A rose with lots of sharp thorns

Faults:

The biggest problem with the car has been the transmission. First there was a leak. Then it kept locking up in limp home mode and would not shift into 3rd or 4th gear. The dealer has replaced a speed sensor and the transmission control module and a solenoid valve and has tried to reprogram the computer. Still the problem continues. I have spent over $1,000 trying to get this fixed and it still does not shift like it should most of the time. Sometimes after turning the engine off and restarting, the transmission will shift just fine, but most of the time it goes back into the limp home mode.

General Comments:

The car is beautiful to behold and when the transmission works correctly it drives great.

The stereo system has a great sound.

The car is like a rose with lots of sharp thorns.

Same problems... no shifting from 1 to 2 and 3. Suddenly the "check engine" light was on and no more shifting, driving only in 1st gear, no speed reported by the instruments, I will ask for service and made an update on this. The car: Cirrus LXI 99 6 cylinders.

(before was the A/C compressor, suddenly stopped working.)

Summary:

It's great without the headaches that come with it

Faults:

When I first purchased the car it was great, then the next week after the sensor light had to be fixed. A week after that the front ball joints had to be replaced and greased.

Then the car was fine until about a month later when I brought the car in to have the linkage belt replaced and three hoses under the vehicle. Everything went wrong about four months after that.

My ABS light keeps staying on constantly and I can be driving and everything is fine, and all of a sudden out of nowhere, the car will rev up high in between the 5 and 6 on my RPM gauge, and the car will start jolting as if I'm braking when really I'm not. After it does that, I cannot get past 60 miles per hour and I have to pull over and let the car sit for a while until I'm able to drive it again.

I took the car to a mechanic - they told me that my transmission was fine and that they don't see the problem, but yet they know that the car does what it does when the car is heated.

I also had ran some fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank and the car seemed fine for a few days, then started acting up again the same way. If anyone has information as to why my vehicle is doing what it's doing, could you please email me at doinlines@aol.com thank you!

General Comments:

I love this car, it is awesome the way it looks and it is very comfortable. I only need to find out why it's doing what it's doing.
