2000 Chrysler Cirrus LX 2.4 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Great car, I will keep it until it dies!!!

Faults:

Very little things have gone wrong.

Reading other reviews, I have also had to replace the front wheel bearings at 38,000 kilometers.

One of the power window motors just went yesterday at 59,800 kilometers, but that's minor. and someone stole my hubcap... little hoodlums!!!

General Comments:

GREAT CAR!!!

The seats are okay, nothing special, great for my wife (shorter height).

Car takes off when you go near the gas.

Okay gas mileage, not as good as competitors.

Great quality.

Great car for anyone.

Very roomy, good cabin and trunk space.

Great radio and speakers, the bass and quality is high and mighty.

Neighbourhood hoodlum kids stole my hubcab (1), so I called Chrysler for a new one, and it is $75.00. So needless to say I'm surfing e-bay and it is without a hubcap!

If you are looking for a fairly basic, easy to drive, cool looking and driving car, with performance in a 4 cylinder engine, look at it, they sell really cheap used!!

In your opinion is this a good winter car? I live out in the country on terrible roads, so I need to have a good car for the winter. Also this is going to be my first car; in your opinion is it a good 'first car'?

Hi, I am actually the guy who wrote the original article. Turns out that the transmission leaking thing was because the previous owner brought it over a cement parking block and hit the bottom of the car causing it to leak, I want this car to have the biggest smiley face ever, great car!!!

2000 Chrysler Cirrus LX 2.4 litre from North America

Summary:

A nice car for a reasonable price

Faults:

The wheel bearings went on both sides at 32,000km, but it was covered under warranty.

The power window motor on the driver's side failed at 40,000km, but was also under warranty.

The steering rack failed at 67,000km, and was not covered by the warranty anymore. It was a very expensive replacement - dealer wanted $1700.00 for a new one.

General Comments:

This car has a sharp design and I get a lot of comments on the appearance.

There is lots of leg room and head room, and the cab forward design makes it feel huge inside.

The car seems to have a lot of power, and people often mistake my four cylinder for a six cylinder.

2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXi 2.5 from North America

Summary:

I love the car. I hate the problems

Faults:

Within 24 hours of us purchasing this car it had to be towed back to the dealership because the radiator was leaking. It had not been welded together properly at the manufacturer.

The button to turn the air conditioner on and off with broke and had to be replaced.

The electric motor for the rear passenger window went out and had to be replaced.

Fuel injectors 1, 3, and 5 went out and had to be replaced. Within a couple of weeks 2, 4, and 6 had to be replaced.

One of the motor's sensors had to be replaced. (Forgive me I am not positive on which sensor.)

My seats are leather. My backseat has coming undone at the seam. It is undone now about halfway down my backseat.

My car is now in the shop, after breaking down and being towed 3 different times, because my transmission needs to be replaced. It will cost more to overhaul it than to replace it so I am now going to be purchasing a re-manufactured transmission to put in me 2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXi.

General Comments:

As far as my car, for some reason I love the car itself.

When I purchased the car I had looked at tons of other cars, but when I sat in this car it just felt like me. I like the car so well I guess I hate to admit that it has been a really BIG headache. And let me assure you if a car can give someone with blood clots on their brain a headache worse than normal that is a really big headache.
