1990 Chrysler LeBaron GT Highline Convertible 3.2L V6 from North America
Summary:
Fun and sturdy American made car
Faults:
When trying to start the car, the key wouldn't turn - something went wrong with the key shaft and had to be replaced. Apparently that's fairly common with Le Barons, it happened to my mother's car as well.
This year, the fuel pump broke. The fuel filter was full and I wasn't aware of it, so it cost about $800 to repair - make sure to change it regularly!
The only real problem now is emissions. I live near Washington D.C. and it's a law that you have to have low-emissions vehicle, and it didn't pass this year. To fix it, it will be about $2000 - major work to the engine. Since I purchased the car for $2250, it's not even worth it to fix it.
Back left window does not roll down.
There must be a wiring problem now since the convertible top struggles, and the signals decide to come and go when they feel like it.
General Comments:
A great car! Despite a few flaws, minor problems, overall, worth every dollar.
I got this car for relatively cheap, gets me from point A to point B in style and comfort.
I'm now looking for a new car that has as much bang for the buck as this car did.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
