2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring 2.4 from North America

Summary:

A utilitarian car, but currently with a major problem

Faults:

The transmission is already leaking from the front end.

General Comments:

This is our second Cruiser. The first was a 2002 Touring model with no problems. Our new Cruiser is a 2003 Touring model with less than a 100 miles on it and it's leaking very badly.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4 liter V4 from North America

Summary:

Function with unsurpassed style

Faults:

I have detected no problems with this vehicle.

General Comments:

My wife and I have wanted a PT Cruiser ever since the first one (2000 model) rolled out in mid-1999. We have been reluctant, however, to purchase one because the price was too high for the size of the car and the power of the engine. Since the price has fallen significantly, we decided to make the plunge into a PT Cruiser.

Chrysler has built a car that takes the best styling of the art deco period of the 30's and 40's and put it into a 21st century car.

It has the function of a small SUV, with the comfort of a car. The gas mileage is a plus coming from an Intrepid and the power is not nearly as bad as I anticipated. It is similar to the power my wife's 98 Plymouth Neon Expresso has. But it is so much more fun to drive. You feel like the coolest people on the road.

My last four cars have been Daimler Chrysler products and I wouldn't buy anything else. They're reliable vehicles with styling and design like no one else.

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Everybody should have at least one of these

Faults:

One rear child-proof door lock switch didn't work, but was repaired on delivery day.

General Comments:

Feels like my old Subaru. Have to get used to a subcompact again. Gas mileage went from 17 to 28 in 1000 miles of driving. Deep cranberry looks good on this car.

Just a question of what you mean by the gas went from 17-28? Are you stating that your gas mileage increased as you drove your vehicle more? Please advise on that, just because I am curious. I am 20 years old and currently debating whether I want to buy one. My motor-head neighbor loved the one he previously owned, and he's a wrangler, body building, four wheelin' kind of guy. So if he thinks it's good, it might be.
