My driver door handle broke and three months later it broke again, passenger panel fell off, but I guess there not defects, I'm just retarded.

My 1999 Sebring driver side door handle has also broken. It was somebody else who was trying to open the door while the car was locked. I thought they had just pulled too hard, but after seeing how many other people have the same problem with this car and breaking door handles, I think it is actually a problem with the part. I went to the Chrysler dealership to determine what it would cost to repair and I was told $100 for the handle assembly and $130 for the labor!!! Also my driver side door panel fell off, and the dealership could not obtain the clips to repair it. It has been hanging on by a thread for several years. I will also note, while I am here, that the automatic mirrors are crap. I have to push the buttons so hard to get them to move that the button actually got pushed into the dash!

I have a 1998 Sebring LXI and have had very good luck with it EXCEPT for a few things. The mirror leaked out on a hot day and ruined my console. I wonder if anyone else had this problem. It is one of those mirrors with the digital compass and button to push for night driving.

I wish I would have done my research on this car ahead of time. I was in ire need of a car and I got a decent deal on my 1998 Sebring LXI...at least I thought I did. I have had it less than 2 months, and had it into the shop three times because it won't start. The last time the dealer said it was a loose battery cable. They tightened it and said that it was fixed. The next day, I drove it to work. When I left at the end of the day, it wouldn't start! I am fed up with this car. My 92 Toyota Camry with 250k miles is more dependable than this car. I wish I would never have bought it. My mirrors also will not adjust without pressing very hard. The door handles haven't broken and the panels haven't fallen off. I guess that I have that to look forward to. I will never buy another Chrysler.

I am 17 years old and the 1998 Chrysler Sebring LXI will be my first car. I was feeling kind of skeptical about it because the muffler is already messed up, but the salesman said that he could fix that for me before I pick up the car. I was just doing research trying to see what this car was really about. Oh yeah, and I'm buying it with the door panel already falling off. The dealer says "all I have to do" (yeah right) is go and get a clip from a Chrysler dealership for it.

None of the buttons, knobs, etc. were worth a crap from the beginning when I purchased the 2000 Sebring Coupe for my daughter.

Then the door handle broke off. Was that FUN to fix. What a crappy design. Not only is the handle junk, but to fix it is almost impossible.

The engineers should be flogged. Took 6 hours for me to fix; I had to FABRICATE three DIFFERENT tools from clothes hangers to get to the clips for the window rods. Totally crappy engineering.

And I was hoping they'd bail out the big three!!! Hmmm...

DO NOT get a 1998 Chrysler Sebring. Not only did I pay thousands of dollars on their tacky job of the car, but distributor recall and both door handles will not work. It is 11pm, and me and my daughter tried to open the only door that would open; it breaks. Yeah, so get rid of it and sell that hunk of junk that Chrysler calls a car.

Erica.

I own a 1998 Chrysler Sebring, and knock on wood I have no problems with the car. I have to agree with the comments that the front bumper is way too low. The brakes are bad, but need replacing; same for the rotors. The rims are crap, but the person who owned the car before me did not care for the car, and ruined it. But I'm happy with the car; it runs good, having 100,000 miles on; it runs fine besides the front bumper, brakes, and the rims. I think it's a good car overall.

I have 98 LXI model with both door handles messed up. Also have problems with the rims getting dented, and airbag cover on passenger side is peeling off.

I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring (has only 45,000 miles), and has been a excellent car except that the catalytic converter has a stupid flex pipe design, and wait till you have to buy one.

Also the driver's side door latch broke, and it's hard to find a painted one in good shape.

The moonroof material came off the metal slider.

The paint is getting real funny on the spoiler, and the factory mag wheels always bend around the rim part with the slightest pot hole (very fragile).

I have the same car, and the passenger side airbag cover is peeling off also from the sun. Any ideas how much to have it replaced? Or how to fix it myself?

Thanks in advance.

I also had my mirror leak a liquid.

My exterior door panels have fallen off for years. Finally screwed them right into the door.

I replaced the motor in my driver's side window, but only worked for two days.

Both of my door handles have broke. I have to leave my passenger window down three inches to reach my hand in to open the door. Ordered the parts to replace both door handles. I can't get to the last screw.

Any good directions out there... or a smart, strong guy?
