Faults:

The transmission went out at 93,000.

Power steering pump is leaking at 95,200.

Check engine light goes on and off a lot.

General Comments:

This is a very nice car, it drives very well.

I would recommend this car, except it has lots of minor problems.

There is lots of head room and lots of leg room.

The interior is very nice and comfortable.

Also there is lots of trunk space and lots of room in the back for more people.

Runs very good and starts good in the winter, but it's light so it doesn't go through snow too well.

Otherwise I am very happy with my car.

Faults:

Bent brake rotors, has been cured twice.

This has occurred twice: After long trip at steady speeds, the engine idles roughly or even dies. The problem cures itself in few minutes when driving in a city at lower speeds. Service couldn't replicate or fix the problem.

Noise level is quite high. Especially tire noise which tends to penetrate into the cabin.

Headlights are lousy. I have to use fog-lights quite often when driving in night/rain.

General Comments:

The car is quite fast and the automatic transmission works like a dream. Stratus have a lot of pickup when passing.

Steering is sensitive, yet the car can be easily maneuvered in tight parking spaces.

Suspension is more European-like than American-like. It's a nice car for both the city and highway.

Stratus offers a lot of car with all its equipment (air conditioning, automatic transmission, ABS, double airbags to mention few) for an affordable price.

Exterior of the car is very nice. Especially the front facia, is very different from other brands and overall design of the body lines is wonderful.

Faults:

Passenger powered windows broke twice.

A small noise from the front panel.

General Comments:

It is my first "big" and imported car, and I think it was a good choice.

A lot of legroom space, "solid" on freeways as a big boat on the sea, but fun to drive.

"Stylistic" and comfortable.

Faults:

Well, this is one of the first Stratus delivered in the Netherlands. There were a lot of minor problems with the car. But it always started immediately. All the problems are solved by the guarantee.

General Comments:

Average fuel consumption is low for such a big (4.75 m) car - about 8 l/100km. A nice car to drive, but not a fun car. This was my fathers car (I drove about 17500 km with it). Now I bought my first own car. A 1993 Nissan 100NX T-Bar. Not as comfortable but much more fun. After a few months I will add the Nissan also.
