General Comments:
I was really a skeptic about Citroen. The reason I got it was that I crashed my Opel and needed another car fast. The BX had no rust to speak of, except one small hole in the left front wheel housing. It was really cheap and had a well documented service book, so I thought, well, why not give it a try.
So far I have not been disappointed. I can't imagine getting more car for the money. It handles extremely well on the highway with all the comfort that, at least, I require.
I do have a few remarks:
I can't seem to quite get along with the driver seat. I've heard that there are better seats on more exclusive variants of the BX, so I will try to get a hold of at least the driver seat.
It takes a little more gas than I had heard it would. My kadett (R.I.P) was better in that respect.
I'm still trying to convince myself that it isn't one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen.
Apart from this I'm afraid I'm starting to develop tender feelings to-wards this car.

Smoother than a Merceredes? I think not. I have owned in the Past a BX1.9D and have since owned a few Mercedes. The BX may have a better ride than the A Class (what car doesn't) but my 300TE is just superb. The problem with BXs is the complex suspension. If not kept on top of it just keeps going wrong, and costs a lot. The build quality was rubbish and the seats diabolical, but the chassis was OK. Comparing Citroen BX to a Mercedes is not really fair. One is just a French car, the other an engineering masterpiece!
