2012 Citroen DS3 VTi DStyle Plus 1.6 petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very smart, very modern

Faults:

Brakes and suspension components wear out a bit earlier than I would like and I do not drive it fast so that is strange. Everything else was maintenance expected of mileage.

Air con stopped working recently. Oh and I got a puncture recently and I know that is not the car's fault, but I wish they would give us a spare wheel! Fiddling about with the repair kit at the side of the road was a nightmare, I had never used one before. Apparently a lot of cars have these now instead of a spare!

General Comments:

My DS3 is red/black and looks incredible for a 2012 car. I cannot believe it is 10 years old; if you told me this car came out in only the last 5 years I could believe it.

1.6 petrol is nippy and OK on fuel. Driving is fun and the car always feels sharp. Seats are comfortable enough, but it is a little cramped inside and the armrest just annoys me for some reason; can never get the right position. Otherwise everything else is fine, the dash looks very modern also.

It is very well equipped the DStyle VTi model. Electrics and stunning alloy wheels.

If you want a modern hot hatch that is a bit different from the rest, look no further than the DS3.

2013 Citroen DS3 1.6 turbo diesel from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Great looks

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The car looks great and is comfortable to drive. It's smooth and as quick as I need it to be. The MPG is between 58 and 74.

The standard ICE is not bad; even playing through the Bluetooth, the sound quality is good.

Don't bother with the built in sat nav; a TomTom is far superior.

It comes with 3 years free servicing, otherwise I would do it myself.

The leather interior seems to be of decent quality.

The steering is nice and light. The handling is superb. The trade off is a hardish ride over bad road surfaces, which is not the car's fault.

The only two things I would change are more lumbar support in the driver's seat, and the Citroen/Peugeot obsession with the ridiculous high clutch bite, which you can overcome with extra mats.

Mine is a DSport Plus, and I would recommend spending the extra over the more basic models.

The higher spec cars are well worth it, I love my DS3. Great hatchback cars in the highest trims.

These should be more popular, I test drove all the rival cars (Focus, 208, etc) but the DS came out on top, great little car.
