1997 Daewoo Cielo GLE 1.5 from Peru
Summary:
Reliable and economic
Faults:
AC malfunction since 70.000 km.
Electric front left window system failure 2 times.
Poor audio and cabin ventilation systems.
General Comments:
I own an Automatic model purchased new.
This car with the appropiate services every 5000 kms avoid any mechanical problems.
Really reliable.
I added a LPG fuel system at 70,000 km which makes it really economic, also replacement parts are too.
Big cabin and trunk space, and very comfortable for a medium size model.
Engine mantains its compression almost like the first kilometers.
I'm very happy with my car.
Finally, I think that a good car like the Cielo with a good driver could walk for kilometers and kilometers.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Sounds like every single one of the complaints can be traced back to driving style. Including fuel economy. Belts break. They are rubber turning on hot metal hundreds of times a minute. Especially if you run your engine at excessively high RPMs redlining it all of the time. This also wears out the bearings in your air conditioning. You will have either performance or cold air. Not both. Whether you have a 150hp engine or an 800hp engine.
