Faults:

Oil leaking from the engine at 170 000 kilometres.

General Comments:

This car is good, and reliable enough. I like that this car has run for 20 years now. In my country, the cost of service is not high like America or Europe.

Many people in Indonesia like this used car because of its low maintenance, and how it performs well with bad quality diesel fuel. The new diesel engines like the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, etc can't handle with bad quality diesel fuel; the injection pump will fail after about 20 000 km.

Faults:

My front crankshaft seal jumped out from its place and oil spills everywhere (still a mystery why this happened), so I turned off the engine and waited for towing. It cost me a lot as I had to change the timing belt too.

The visco fan oil need to be replaced.

General Comments:

Easy and low maintenance costs, just follow the routine schedule and this little tank won't let you down.

Full of torque at low rpm.

Very good resale value here.

No worry about the spare parts, we've got plenty here in Indonesia.

Very reliable 4wd vehicle.

Acceptable running costs.

I would like to use this car as long as possible.

Comfort ride if compared to my previous F70.

Faults:

The fuel line broken, the engine made a huge noise for a slow acceleration.

The power steering leak every 20.000km.

Seat worn out, no support whatsoever.

Brake didn't work properly.

Transfer case didn't work properly.

Wiper is a joke.

Suspension is nonexistent.

General Comments:

It is a crappy car, breaks down often, only has marginal off road capability.. which needs to be push in the mud.

Braking is scary.. not mention on wet roads.

Engine performance is a joke.

Make too much smoke even after cleaning the filter and fuel periodically.

Front light is crappy.

The only thing that is good is that the engine will start.

Faults:

Power steering pump often leaks.

Steering gearbox often leaks.

That's all, the rest of it, this vehicle performs very well.

General Comments:

This vehicle is truly reliable and suitable to the road conditions in my country. The roads are broken in much sections and we often get floods if hard rain comes.

In Indonesia, this kind of vehicle is trusted to be a good off road vehicle, The mining company loves to use this vehicle. Here, the Fourtrak is known as the Taft GT for the F70 type, Rocky for the F75 type and Hiline Pick Up for the F77 type.

The naturally aspirated diesel engine performs well with bad quality diesel fuel.

The engine runs not fast, but very powerful I think.
