1983 Datsun 280ZX 2.8 Inline 6 from North America
Summary:
Legendary Z Car, excellent bargain and fast too
Faults:
Replaced starter.
Replaced water pump.
General Comments:
Very reliable car.
Fairly fast, turns many heads. It is a sharp looking car, but looks faster than it really is.
I have replaced a few items in the 4 years I have owned the car, but all items replaced are normal wear and tear for a car with 150 K miles on it.
Have raced the car a few times (Rally cross, Auto cross). Does well, but doesn't corner as well as an RX-7 (my older car), but it is faster off the line.
The car has many extra features, considering it is an 18 year old sports car (power locks, windows, mirrors, cruise, buckets, AC, talking dash, T-tops, FI OHC 6 cylinder, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension, etc...)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

280zx - great car, I own a late '83 model. Goes great even though it's done a few too many k's (even miles). Starts first time every time!!

Not as fast as it looks? hehehe
If you have a non turbo, find a 3.90 rear end with a 5 speed and have fun =)
If you have a turbo cut the muffler off "still quiet", add a K&N intake "PVC piping of course", add a pick and pull I/C 80 bucks from a junk yard and up the boost to 12-14PSI. You will smoke Mustangs/Camaros all day long with fuel problems. I've run 14.1s on street tires spinning out of the hole, with a new fuel pressure regulator and slicks it should hit mid to low 13s easy.
Man I love Zs! =)
Signed,
Just another Datsun lover.
Got boost?

ZX's rule for ever. Paint it bright yellow with a full body kit and you'll get even more looks, that's what I'm in the process of doing anyway.
