1958 DKW Sonderklasse 3=6 F94 900 cc two stroke petrol from North America

Summary:

Piece of beauty

Faults:

The two most serious problems with this car are the shortage of spare parts, and especially the poor lighting of the front lights. With only 6 volts it is very difficult to drive at night.

General Comments:

The car has fascinated me since I saw it. I bought it from a friend of my father who had it very well maintained and with few miles 16 years ago.

The example of a classic post-war German, extremely reliable, with its two-stroke engine you only need to mix oil and gasoline and go. In a short time it will be 70 years old and works like a car from this century, it has a very hard sheet metal and no rust problems. It is very smooth to drive, and doesn't make any strange noises above 70 miles.

It is my second car and I use it sporadically on weekends, but I really doubt that cars will be made as reliable and economical as this one again.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Interesting looking car, had to do an image search to see what it looked like! Very nice. Love the old styles.

This DKW model is beautiful.

The Sonderklasse's two stroke engine was borrowed by SAAB to develop the engine used in the 96. It was one of the most reliable European cars of the post-war period.
