Faults:

In the last month and a half that I have owned it I have had to replace brakes calipers and rotors.

The crankshaft position sensor and the coil also needed replaced.

After the repairs it still lags a little bit and has stalled once.

General Comments:

It suprisingly handles curves pretty well.

At high speeds it doesn't shake too much and still handles pretty well.

There is plenty of trunk and backseat room.

The steering is very easy going which makes it relaxing to drives.

Faults:

One of the back seat belts became sprung after less than a year (about 12,000 miles), but the dealer replaced it, no charge.

At 67,000 miles the fuel pump went out, but we had purchased the extended warranty, so again, no charge.

At about 120,000 miles, we had to replace the transmission.

Paint began peeling when the car was about 5 years old, and we were told it was a manufacturer's defect. We had it repainted in 2001.

General Comments:

This body style is a classic, and will always be gorgeous if kept up well.

It's a very comfortable car with plenty of backseat legroom, and a HUGE trunk!

The fuel-injected carburetor made it a breeze to pass.

The few problems we had with it were expected at some point, and came later than they would have on most vehicles.

Honestly, this car was the best I've ever had, and I hated to give it up after 10-1/2 years of driving it.

Faults:

My tension idler locked up at 80,000 miles. It locked up again a year later at 90,500 miles. I rebuilt the transmission at 60,000 miles. Other than the above the only things that were replaced were normal items such as breaks, and filters.

General Comments:

I am very pleased with my Dynasty.

It has been a very reliable vehicle.

Faults:

Nothing yet - however it is going to need brake work sooner rather than later.

A squeaking serpentine belt was fixed by spraying belt dressing onto it.

General Comments:

Quick, comfortable full sized car. A great value for the money for what you pay for one of them used.

Faults:

Steering wheel makes a ton of noise. Previous owner tried to have it fixed to no avail. Doesn't bother me much though. Drives everyone else nuts.

Kills front brakes. I have to replace them in the very least once a year. Not just the pads either... calipers are always ruined.

Kills front tires. Wears them right down to the threads in short order on the outside edges.

Drove very well until recently. It shakes something fierce at over 80 MPH. Also bad at 35 and below. Not sure if it's the tires or alignment... have replaced both recently.

Starter replaced at 150,000.

Fuel pump had to be replaced at 160,000.

Water pump replaced at 170,000.

Multiple fuel filters.

Seems to have a problem getting into gear in the cold on occasion, a bit of warming up and it's okay.

Smells very heavily of gas on cold mornings until it warms up.

General Comments:

Very comfortable.

Was a nice ride until recently.

I change the oil every 3000 miles on the dot, just in case you are wondering.

Costs me about $75 a month to keep it going on average.

Gas is reasonable for a larger car. 22mpg average.

Looks like it's gonna take me past 200,000 miles... (if the front end doesn't fall apart soon...) What more can you expect from a full sized American car?
