I did the original review of my Dodge Grand Caravan ES 2003 AWD in Aug 2011.

We still love it. It has now about 194000 miles. Added new rear tires. We have used it a lot as camper. Our grandchildren call it Grandpa & Grandma's little house.

Now that it is colder weather, we insulate it with plastic & blanket curtains when it's time to rest in bed. I placed hanger bars to help with getting in & out of bed. Added closets. Half of the middle and the rear bench was converted to a bed for two. It can carry four adults. 2 can stay in bed & 2 can recline to rest. This is our car hotel mansion.

I did the original review of our Dodge Grand Caravan. ES AWD 2003 Micro-RV Conversion in August, 2013.

As of today Cinco de Mayo 2014, our car has reached 200,000 miles; the longest mileage of the cars/truck we have ever owned since July 1, 1975.

Thru the years we owned a total of over 35 cars/truck - to name some:

2+2 Monza Chev, Triumph Spitfire 1977, Monte Carlo 1978, Dodge station wagon K-car, Honda Civic, Chevrolet Suburban, Mark3 Chev Conversion Van, Chev RV 27ft, Motorhome, Grand Caravans, Lincoln Continental limo, Mercedes SD & SLC, Mercedes 1929, 1959 Coupe de Ville Cadillac, 1969 XKE Jaguar, Toyota MR2 1986 & 1991 MR2 turbo, Mitsubishi VR4, 2 Dodge Ram 1500 & 3500 Dually, Toyota pick-up trick, Toyota U haul, 1994 Jamboree Motorhome, 2nd Triumph Spitfire, 1994 Geo Metro etc.

My most favorite is this Dodge Grand Caravan ES AWD Micro-RV because of its versatility, reliability, longevity & good looks. My main mechanic is my son (who has worked as bar tender, car & bike mechanic, businessman & physician etc).

I'm hoping this car & me last a million miles!!!

I found a 2003 with a high top camper conversion; have been searching for the manufacturer, but no luck so far... I would like to pick up "another" wheelchair accessible Grand Caravan (with the 10" lowered floor and modify it with the camper top (which looks like at least 18"-24" high). I don't see an option to upload a picture on here.

Still looking for information on the micro-RV conversion for the Grand Caravan... but other than one picture from what might have been one sold in Canada for 11,500 on Kijiji... no luck.

We have an 05 handicap accessible Grand Caravan, with the 10" lowered floor. Just over 190,000 miles on it now.

A couple weeks ago, I had to change a fuel pump over 500 miles from home when it gave out.

$350 including tow... looks like it was the factory original... but hopefully it's something that won't have to be changed again while I own it.

If you could, will you post or send me a picture of the micro-RV conversion you have.

I did the initial assessment of our 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan ES AWD, which we then converted into Grand Caravan ES AWD "MICRO-RV Mansion". We personally did the conversion, you will never find a manufacturer. All you need to do is to take out the middle seats and do as described in the previous posting. So far, it has now 210,000 miles. Good luck on your "project Micro-RV conversion of Dodge Grand Caravan".

I did the initial assessment of this Grand Caravan ES 2003 converted into a micro-motorhome by my son & me. It has 215,000 miles now & no major repairs (thank God). The engine sounds like a diesel. Still pretty good in winter. Runs great, & the temperature inside stays warm after running the van for about 10 minutes. The temp stays comfortable for 4-5 hours. I actually let the van run instead of just the engine because of its age & I'm afraid that if there's a possible gas leak the chance of carbon dioxide & monoxide poisoning is zero. I do this even in open parking (just over cautious). We used it for camping, even in the winter. We still love this van & hope to reach 500,000 miles.

I am sure that you will not get this, but I am very interested in the conversions you made. Especially the low cost of the transition to an RV.

I really want to do the same, so I am envious and hope that for some reason you see this and have pics and/or an update.

Thanks.
