Faults:

The timing chain went out at about 40k miles. The dealer fixed this under warranty.

The head gasket started leaking at 69k miles and the head was cracked in several places. The total cost to fix this was $1200.

Every time it rains, the interior floods with water. I am guessing this is coming in from the trunk area.

The transmission is starting to go out (albiet with 128k miles on the car).

The sunroof stopped working completely.

General Comments:

I will never, ever buy a Dodge/Chrysler product again.

Although I have coaxed over 100k miles out of the car in a little over 4 years, it has been the constant source of agony and frustration.

My last car was an 88 Chevy Corsica with over 200K miles on it and I never had any problems with it.

I would recommend that if you see any Neon on a used car lot, you avoid it like the plague.

Faults:

My head gasket went at 64,000.

Driving on the highway the window gasket's whistle.

Right now my neon is running on 3 1/2 cylinder's due to a bad fuel pump.

General Comments:

The Neon R/T is fun to drive. I have had my Neon since new and beaten every mile into her. She is ridden hard and put away wet.

I have put an AEM cold air intake, after market exhaust, short throw shifter, R-1 Samuri rear wing, 17"x7" ASA JS1 rims wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza RE910 tires and Altezza taillights.

To date I have only spent $500 on mechanical parts.

Faults:

I have had absolutely no trouble with my neon.

The ride is a little rough when it's cold out though.

Springs are a little stiff.

General Comments:

I love my Neon to death and I don't think I've ever had so much fun in a car before. It's quick as hell for being stock and I've smoked many higher-priced sports cars and import drivers that pour tons into their cars. They all go, "Wait?!? Was that a NEON?!?!?" I love it.

Faults:

My head gasket blew at 60,000.

General Comments:

The dealer said that this head gasket is on back order because so many owners are experiencing the same problem. This is extremely expensive to fix. Please call to report a complaint if you have experienced the same problem! Call 888-327-4236, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Faults:

The only thing that I had go wrong with this car was the main oil seal, but was fixed quickly.

General Comments:

I Have added An awia head unit, Viper amp and MTX subs. In the engine, a supercharger, Nopi pacemaker exhaust, an Iceman cold air intake, and Goodyear HP tires. This car flies!! This car is one of the most fun cars I have ever owned! And man is it fast!

This is the best car on the market for the money. I love it.

Faults:

- Cam Gasket blew @ 145,000 miles, cost to fix? $200.00 Owner Service.

- oil leakage from Cam sensor seal leakage @ 149,000 miles, Cost to fix? $124.00 Dealer Service.

- 1st Check engine Light @ 151,000 Miles. Cause? Broken wire to the Transmission, Cost to Fix? $118.00 Dealer Service.

General Comments:

This car has been through a lot of miles, still it acts like it was just bought a few weeks ago. I personally believe that if you take go care of your car and give it Reg maintance, it would last you a lifetime. My Neon Just had its first timebelt change @ 152,260 miles and I can't believe that the transmission has so many miles. Overall, I Would keep this car.
