Laura:
I can relate... My '93 Shadow convertible has 115,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. I couldn't bring myself to trading it in last summer when I bought my Neon (another fine Chrysler product).
I have the Neon for the winter and the convertible for the summer.
My advice: Keep the Shadow. "Shannon" (that's my name for her since she's green) starts at the first key's turn when asked.

Well, I don't know if the 3 liter is limited but I know it's fast. Kinda scary! but anywayz, (I am the author of this review) my car now has 97 and a half thousand miles, still running strong!
I just changed the oil yesterday all by myself! I'm proud of myself :) There is just something about my car that still intrigues me, I wonder what it is? Maybe it's the speed! Haha!

I bought a 93 Shadow base model with a 2.5 litre and a 3 speed auto and I can pass my friends Camaro like nothing. I've had it doing 105mph with no problem. These are really nice cars.

I recently bought a 94 Dodge Shadow. Its been great so far... I'm on my second week of owning it. The people who had it before I think bought it after it was used as a leased car.. Anyway, it's at 100000 miles. Just rolled over the other day. A few people who looked it over for me said it looks like it only saw 40000 miles.. So I'm happy. It still has original exhaust. I get lots of power after a red light. Nothing major has ever happened to it before. I get around 250 miles per fill up.. which is very good. I've gotten the car up to 75 with no shaking and some floor room left :) I'm afraid to try any higher cuz someone said it stopped responding so good after 97 hehe. (It is a 2.2 litre.) SO far (knocking on wood) its been great and from what I read I hope it stays this way. Feel free to mail me asking me anything (my memory is limited right now hehe) Ill keep you all posted on how it is and what happens next!

I am reading this because I am purchasing a Dodge Shadow in two days. I was told it had a lot of power. As for the 3.0 engine, my current car, my baby, a Dodge Daytona that I am sadly laying to rest has hit 115 MPH and it's a 2.5 4 cylinder.

I purchased a 1989 Shadow ES Turbo in August 2000. It now has 206500 kms on it and it still runs great. It has its squeaks and rattles, and has had its problems, but they have been fairly minimal. I've beaten tons of Civics, some Camaros and it even keeps up with my friend's brand new 2001 Honda Prelude. I wouldn't sell it for anything less. This car has power all aspects considered!

I'm buying a 1993 shadow es, 5 speed with a 3.0, I really love the car, it's got 120 thousand on the body, but the last owner, a woman, ran it out of oil, so it's got a new engine in it with 20000 miles on it. I've driven it just a few times, and I can't wait untill it's mine, it's very fun to drive.

I have a 1994 Shadow ES hatchback. It too has a 3.0 V6 5-speed manual. I have had several problems. My paint is almost completely faded, I had to replace the clutch, rebuild the engine, and replace 1st to 2nd gear synchronizers. This car costs more to maintain than it did to buy. But in all honesty I love my car. The quarter mile time is 14.9 seconds. I have had it up to 136 MPH, with the exception of performance chips and 10.1.6 piston ratio. I love my car with the hate of fixing it.

I have a 1994 Dodge Shadow ES. It has a 3.0 V-6 in it and I don't know how fast it goes, because the speedometer stops at 130mph, so I had to be doing at least that. Let me tell you guys these things are fast, and they can go 100mph all day long and not think a thing of it.

I have a 1993 Dodge Shadow ES hatchback and can corroborate!
This car is SO fast and accelerates so well!
When I drive other cars, they feel draggy.
I got mine with over 100,000 miles, and have had it for over 3 years. It's now above the 140,000 mile mark and no major problems!
One thing I did learn: these cars WANT to be driven fast. When I first got the car, I drove it cautiously (I didn't give it much gas at stoplights or on the freeway) and it did NOT drive as well.
When I started driving hard, it responded MUCH better- this car WANTS the gas, give it speed and it'll be the best car you'll ever own!

I have a 1993 Shadow ES Hatchback with 133000 miles on a 3.0. With the exception of some body rattles the car is great. I regularly have it up over 100 MPH with no problems at all, although it gets poor gas milage at that speed. I expect to have this car for as long as possible. I'm currently looking into Forward Motions receipts for performance mods, not necessarily to go faster, but to go faster with better gas mileage, as they advertise and from previous experience with performance mods on other vehicles. I love my Shadow and won't part with it.

I have a 1992 Dodge Shadow ES with 100,000 miles on it. It's a great car and rarley gives me trouble. I noticed not too many people drive Shadow's so its great to see hear about other peoples adventures.

I have A 93 Dodge Shadow it has about 150,000 miles and it still runs strong. I've had it about 3 years and give it good maintenance. I use pure synthetic oil and super unleaded. This keeps the car running it's best. The car hasn't given me any major problems and hope dodge brings it up again I would be one of the first ones at the dealer buying one.

This 94 shadow 2.2 has given me nothing but problems since I've had it. its on its 6th motor (2 by me) and now it needs a head...2 weeks ago it was the radiator, water pump, and thermostat housing. if I fix it again... what will be next?? its been to 115 but highly unstable and rattling galore... I think I'm done with this pile.

I own a 93 shadow es 2.5 5 speed, she's very fast off the line! I beat an 89 trans am 350 5 speed, and kept up with a souped up civic! I've had minimal problems with the car just replacing a few minor things. Not too bad! I love the car the only reason I'm giving it up is because I've always wanted a camero, and it'll be going to my girlfriend so I'll always see her and occasionally get to drive her again. I think it's a very good car for anyone to own. I just wish performance places made more performance parts for the car. Oh well.

110 mph? That's good for any car, but was the 3.0 litre engine limited? My 2.2L HAS HIT 97MPH once, and had no power left.
