1993 Eagle Talon DL 1.8 from North America

Summary:

If you take care of it (the right way), it will take care of you!

Faults:

Oil light on while sitting at light; replaced power steering line; slight vibration in the wheel after hitting a dip in the road (I believe I may need struts in the front).

General Comments:

I love the car!!! Bought for $700, invested maybe $300. Other than the oil light and the vibration/sway, I KNOW I found a diamond in the rough!!!

1993 Eagle Talon ES 2.0L DOHC 16v from North America

Summary:

I like it. Need help on one thing though

Faults:

Engine idles a little high (1,500 RPMS).

Engine idle will also fluctuate after I have been driving for over 45 minutes (it go up back and forth from 1,500 to 1,000 RPMS).

Check engine light comes on when I start up. It says on for about 7 seconds after I start it.

Car is running a little rich (gas mileage dropped from 30 MPG to 25 MPG, and I can see black smoke coming out of the exhaust when you take the engine over 5,000 RPMS)

General Comments:

I like this car. It is really quick for a 4 cylinder and it handles really well going around turns and stuff.

I am not sure what is wrong with it, but I need to find out because I need this car to last so I want to fix it. Anybody know?

1993 Eagle Talon ES 2.0L non-turbo from North America

Summary:

Absolutely 300% freaking amazing

Faults:

Tires, clutch, alternator, tie-rod end.

The tires went bad because they were old (new ones now).

The clutch went bad because it was old, alternator was old also, and the tie-rod ends also were old.

General Comments:

This car is amazing, I know a lot of people that say that they would love to buy my car from me and it is completely stock (with exception of minor interior mods).

1993 Eagle Talon 1.7L from North America

Summary:

The car is awesome

Faults:

The only things that have gone wrong with my car is that the drivers side axle boot has been torn, not too much to fix though, only about 200 with repair costs.

Lately the car is doing some weird things, like when I throw it in reverse it sometimes shuts off. The brake will still work, but the gas won't, so I have to shut it off then restart it, so might be the tranny (hopefully not).

There is rust above the wheels, not a lot though, but when I get a new paint job done in the summer that will be gone.

The car burns a lot of oil, more than should be happening.

Other than all that, the car is awesome. I love it.

General Comments:

This car is a great car, but you have to have the money to put into it.

It is a nice looking car and is easy to soup up, but it isn't made for performance, more for looks.

If you get a chance to get one, I'd recommend it.

1993 Eagle Talon DL 1.8L inline 4 from North America

Summary:

The best car I have ever driven

Faults:

A lot of things have gone with it, as it sat for a few years in a field rusting, so I don't blame them on the car itself. However when I first got it, I started it, it ran, more than what can be said for most cars that have been left to rust. Thou 12 miles later it died. Head Gasket was to blame.

General Comments:

This car is smooth, it shifts like a dream, if your in for your first manual, here it is.

Sitting in the seat is like being in one of those big old tubs, your really low and the dash is rather high. It can be unsettling for someone who is rather short.

The ride is very soft, after all those years sitting thought it would have diminished, but I can normally feel the speed of a car, keep your eyes on the speedometer, or you'll be speeding soon enough.

Very quick acceleration, watch for it, can get you into trouble.

The thing turns on a dime.
