1986 Ford Crown Victoria 5.8 litre ohv V8 2-barrel from North America
Summary:
A high-mileage steal
Faults:
The car had surface rust and a few trim deficiencies.
The windshield seems to attract expensive rock chips.
The engine was permanently in need of a tune-up.
The air conditioning never worked.
Some uncaring slob used the car to haul oil. Grey seats were black.
General Comments:
A very solid, heavy car, with gas mileage figures to match. The enormous engine may have had something to do with that.
The seats were like sofas, even for the middlemost passenger. Long trips were ultra-comfortable.
Towing is no problem!
The car handles like a barge in town, a cabin cruiser on the highway, and accelerates like a jet boat.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

If you think the Crown Vic's engine is enormous, the early 70's Olds Toronado had a 8.5L 8 cyl. Now THAT would suck down the gas!! But, yes, you're right, the Crown Vic engine would seem big compared to the 1.?L 4 cyl. engines car companies are producing in abundance now.
