I have two ZX2 S/R's.
The black one was purchased from West Virginia, used, 120000 miles on it, and we replaced the clutch.
The yellow one was purchased new with 100 miles on it. At 14,000 miles, a new motor was installed by the Ford garage where I purchased it. Currently it is STOCK, and has 34,000 original miles on it.
I am trying to find out the value of these cars.
Originally thought it would be fun to have a red one too and go to car shows, but never found the red.

I am the proud owner of a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 S/R in red in Texas.
I was going to sell it after I paid it off. Then a friend of mine googled it then told me to not sell it. I wanted to so bad. There's nothing wrong with it. I wanted a bike.
Then he had all this information about it. I was pretty impressed. The only thing wrong with it is the dent that I have on the drivers side. It was put there my a dumb high school kid.
This car called to me the day I got it. I love it. I've only done minor interior work to it. Red accents here and there. The middle of the steering wheel, the air bag cover and the back panels. Other than that, the car is all original.
I'm not too sure if it's got the center-force clutch. There were some s/r's that were made without them. And I want to find that out. When I can get to it, I'm going to get it painted back to the red that it came. Man, I had a lot of plans for that car. But its worth it to leave it stock.
I have taken it to the track a few times. And it does OK on the quarter. I ran fifteen sevens to sixteens. I was a little nervous. I thought it did well. No bogging down. No problems. Great. And it does wonderful on corners. My kind of car. I take corners a little fast....
I have also tried tracking down other S/R's. But I don't know how to do that. I want to see how many of this awesome car are left. The regular Escorts are crap. But what Ford Racing and Ford came up with was awesome.
I wouldn't trade it for anything now.
