1969 Ford F100 SWB Factory 429 from North America

Summary:

Very unique truck

Faults:

Just minor everyday wear over the years; the truck has been in family since new.

General Comments:

My grandfather ordered this truck in 1969 from the Ford dealership in Jackson Tennessee. He wanted a "plain" Ford truck with lots of power to pull his stock trailer filled with livestock. The truck DOES NOT have power steering, no air, no radio... but it does have a heater. He ordered it with a automatic transmission and it is the FMX type. He also ordered it special order with a 429 big block and it did come with a chrome grill, but has white painted bumpers front and rear.

The truck is in great shape, it's a short wheel base model. I was given the truck after my grandfathers death in 1988 with only 52,000 miles on the truck.

That's an awesome truck you got yourself there... Sounds like a great family heirloom to be passed down :-)

Ever go to www.fordtrucks.com??? Lots of cool people and info on that site. I highly recommend it for figuring out all there can be to find out about Ford trucks. Congrats.

Sorry to hear about your grandad's passing :(

1969 Ford F100 Ranger 360 V8 from North America

Summary:

Just Like The Energizer Bunny (or other Ford Trucks) --Keeps Going And Going

Faults:

The original engine blew up in 1980, before the truck was acquired.

Starting to use some gasoline. Gets about 6 mpg now and used to get about 14. Needs a little carb work.

Grinds excessively into first (granny) gear and into reverse.

Is going to need a new battery real soon as well.

Air conditioning needs recharge.

Numerous squeaks and rattles inside the cab due to age.

Very little rust for age.

General Comments:

Being an old Ford F100 that has been driven well over a quarter million miles, it has done very well.

This is just the work truck. I use it to haul branches and rocks and it does great. Plenty of room in the long bed.

Has absolutely no options in it--no power steering, brakes, windows, etc., but I don't really care for them. Just more stuff that can break.

I never lock this truck because anybody trying to steal this truck will have LOTS of trouble trying to drive it out of my work without all the options.

It does really well pulling stuff. The granny gear is wonderful.

Amazing torque. I have gone up a 10% grade doing 25 in fourth gear.

On the flip side, it still does 75 mph effortlessly.

Factory dual exhaust. Sounds really powerful, but is extremely loud.

In all the years, it has only stranded me once, at the dump. All I needed was a jump.

All in all, an awesome truck. Definitely recommend to others.

1969 Ford F100 Ford F-100 360 cubic in. from North America

Summary:

Everybody should own a ford f-100

Faults:

At 100n thousand miles I had a small oil line drip, needed a new tie rod, and a new starter.

General Comments:

This is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It has the power to do anything you want it to do. The strength of the truck is amassing. These trucks are very easy to work on, no matter what your level of vehicle knowledge, and the parts are supper cheap. I would never think of selling it.
