2001 Ford F250 Super Duty XLT V10 from North America
Summary:
Impressive quality and durability in a North American vehicle
Faults:
Had to replace the front axle seals at 170000 KS.
Replaced upper and lower ball joints at 170000 KS.
General Comments:
The only negative about this truck is its poor mileage. This has to be expected on a vehicle that weights around 7000lbs and has a V10 gasoline engine. People always ask what it gets for mileage and I just laugh and say that it sucks (gas).
Since it is a crew cab there is plenty of room for six large adults and everyone still has space to shift around. Firm and comfortable seats with only the driver seat showing wear. The wear is on the side where some hard plastic moulding rubs when getting in and out.
Driving this monster is actually quite fun, it handles like a vehicle half its weight and stops on a dime. Due to the leaf spring suspension it rides a little stiff. On the highway it is very smooth and stable with plenty of power to pass and climb hills.
I really don't need a truck of its size and capabilities, but the price was right and I did have other plans until OPEC kicked everyone in the wallet.
I still laugh every time I park it and see other cars near it. The size difference is amazing, this is a true dinosaur. I will miss it when its gone whenever the time comes, until then I will enjoy the safety and security it provides every day.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I see you say it sucks gas, but how bad? What MPG did you get? I am looking for an F250 and found one with a V10, and I'm wondering if it's worse than my current truck, which gets 10 to 15 mpg!!!
