1974 Ford Fairlane ZH 4.9ltr 302 Cleveland from Australia and New Zealand
Summary:
A great cruising car
Faults:
The engine is a little bit tired but the overall performance is good.
The only problem I have had is the gearbox needed replacing. I got mine taken out and a new one put in plus the cost of the gearbox for $300.
General Comments:
I got the car for nothing from an old guy and it is in good nick.
It's a shame that there are not many drive ins any more because I could fit about six mates in the boot!
Overall a very nice luxury car that looks mean and has only cost me a gearbox ($300)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

My partner has just bought a 1974 Ford Fairlane from a family member. It has been sitting idle in a backyard.
The car needs a lot of work, as it has been off the road for a number of years and we don't know exactly where to start.
We want to fix it up and get it back on the road.
Where is the best place to start?
