Clutch at 212,000.

General Comments:

I love these cars, own 4 others. Great for long distance and great on gas. I still get 40+ mpg. Call mine a little Scooter Buggie. Greatest car since Duesenburg. Everyone should have at least one.

1990 Ford Festiva LX 1.3i from North America

Summary:

The perfect small car

Faults:

The muffler had to be replaced after I purchased the car.

General Comments:

This is my third Festiva. I really enjoy driving these little cars. I was in an accident with my last one, they actually have a 5 star front impact rating! Good thing I wasn't driving a Chevy Sprint! The car still ran perfectly, and I was able to drive it home. I have always found the festiva to be very reliable.

I am 6'2" and I am very comfortable in my Festie. I think they are reliable because they were designed by Mazda. One thing I do not like is the rude, unhelpful people at the local Ford dealerships. Whenever possible, I buy parts at the local Mazda dealer. They are far more helpful.

Actually, you will find this most amusing.. The Ford Festiva is actually built by Kia, which at the time was owned by Mazda who is owned by Ford. Long story, but it is quite true.

1990 Ford Festiva LX 1.3 from North America

Faults:

I replaced the clutch at 102,000 miles but it was still good, I just wanted to go ahead and get a new one. I had to have work done on the A/C. I've also replaced the rear bearings once.

General Comments:

Overall this car is pretty great for the price I paid for it, I am very surprised. It is beyond reliable, it has never left me stranded ever.

I got my Ford Festiva new in 91 and have enjoyed it ever since. I have driven over 300,000 klms on it and in the 10 years I have owned it, I have had to do my transmission only once in it. I enjoy the great gas milage as well as the handling. I have found in the winter time, it is not exactly very warm. But I can put up with a bit of inconvenience to save a lot of money on gas! If I had the chance, I would buy myself another car like this one!
