1998 Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.25 from UK and Ireland
Summary:
A very safe fun little car
Faults:
The remote central locking does not work until stood next to the car at which point it would be just as easy to use the key, even after replacing the batteries and cleaning the remote.
The rear windscreen wiper appears to have an intermittent fault as sometimes it won't work and the next time the car is used it works just fine.
The seats could do with slightly more support at the side to stop you from sliding about when cornering quickly.
General Comments:
The car has really nicely weighted steering and the engine is really eager to perform, let down only by being a 1.25.
The cabin of mine is a nice light beige colour with wood fascia. This make the interior feel nice and airy.
Unfortunately, my car was wrote-off last week when a Transit van pulled of in front of it on a 60 MPH road. I walked away from the high speed crash with nothing more than a small burn on my arm from the airbag and a sore neck over the following week. If you want a safe small car this is the one to get.
I would get another Ford Fiesta, but I need slightly more space so I'm going to get a Ford Focus.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Nice car - I had a look on my driver's seat and can see why they break. If you lean on the seat while adjusting it, it binds on the frame and snaps. Point is, lean forward when adjusting it!
I own a 1.4Si and after hiring a 1.25, I found that the build quality is better on the 1.4, especially if you've got the EW, CL, and tailgate release pack - strange. The performance is so much better and the fuel economy the same, so I would recommend getting a 1.4 if you are buying second hand.
