2009 Ford Fusion SE 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Great car for the money, and then some!

Faults:

Bought as a 2009 demonstrator in May of 2009. Never had anything go wrong with it.

General Comments:

This is my 48th car since I've been driving (Started in 1967). I've had many sport cars (European and American), then got married.

Went to mid-size cars (Malibu SS, Chevy II) then to larger cars (Ex:Chevrolet Impala SS, Buick Electra 225).

And with the fuel situation in the late 70's, started buying Japanese cars (3 Mazdas, a couple of Suzuki's, 2 Toyotas Camrys... Very flimsy body's) then Volvos (244DLs).

Went back to American built cars (Chrysler K-car, Saturn, then a few 4X4s - Ford Bronco, then Explorer.) Back to cars with 2 Ford Tauruses. Fords all had transmission problems when they got near 60,000 miles.

Then back to Japanese cars, Suzuki Esteem and then a Verona (What a piece of...)

Then back to American cars, Dodge Caliber and now a Ford Fusion 2009 SE with the 4 cyl. 5 speed automatic.

I think this is about the best car I ever had!!

Everything is there: Comfort, frame sturdiness, easy road handling, roominess, ABS, stability control and loads of other safety controls, plus a good sound system!

My wife is a hard critic because of all the vehicles I've had, and she also thinks this is the best vehicle we've ever had!

2009 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0 24 valve from North America

Summary:

Sexy package with just enough pop!

Faults:

Not a single thing as the car was delivered with 106 km on the dial, I've only been driving it for two days and now it only up to 216 km.

General Comments:

Was not in the market as my '89 Accord seems bulletproof (one of the old Hondas that were/are solid), but up here in Canada the Fords are being sold cheap cheap cheap, so I had pick one up.

I have driven the Fusion before as a rental car and loved it. Pretty much a no brainer, and my city is some 500 km (260 miles) from anywhere, so we are limited to Ford, GM, Chrysler and Toyota. GM has the G6 or Malibu, ugly and wouldn't trust em for reliability, Chrysler the Sebring and Avenger, even worse than GM, then there is Toyota with the over priced and over hyped Camry. So Ford it is. Besides you all know it's really a Mazda6 underneath the sheet metal, right.

My redfire metallic is with the sports appearance package. This includes 18" performance tires, different rims, a smoked out grill, red stitching in the seats and steering wheel and body color fog lamp inserts. No factory upgrades to the engine.

Good looking car, with enough power at 221 HP and a slick 6 speed autobox. Handles great. Very quiet, with a great stereo, auto dimming mirror, cruise, auto climate control, sync, sat radio, remote start, etc etc.

Hope this car will serve me well for a few years... look forward to updating and reading comments!

We have a 2006 Fusion in the beautiful redfire color as well. We love it. Not a single problem and it drives better than anything in its class. We are a multi-car family and have 2 Fords and 2 GM's. All of them are very solid and dependable cars. None has ever required ANY repairs, including the 9 and 7 year old GM vehicles.

2009 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0L V6 from North America

Summary:

Great value for the money

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

It feels like a 4 door Mustang for driving.

I wish there was a manual transmission for the V6.

Microsoft Sync is great. I want to always have this in my vehicles. It will definitely influence my future purchases.

Congratulations on buying the best sedan available in the U.S.!! I love the Mustang/Fusion comparison, as I own both a Mustang AND a Fusion. The Mustang is faster, but the Fusion rides MUCH, MUCH smoother.

I test drove a specially built one-off V-6 5-speed Fusion that was specially built by a local speed shop a couple of years ago. It WAS awesome!! Too bad Ford doesn't make them on a regular basis.

Also, my mom just bought a Lincoln MKZ (a Fusion with $20,000 tacked on). It is a great car too, but there is simply not enough difference to pay that much more. If you were blindfolded and driven around in both the Fusion and the MKZ it would be very hard to tell which was which.
