1972 Ford Galaxy LTD / Brougham 400 from North America
Summary:
My weekend cruiser
Faults:
I've replaced a failed water pump, rebuilt the power brake booster, the carburetor, and installed a new radiator.
A few minor electrical problems have been fixed because I have the factory wiring diagrams.
Engine and transmission have never been rebuilt.
General Comments:
Restored this car over a period of 11 years as money and time permitted.
New paint, vinyl roof and interior; it looks almost like it did when new.
This car is surprisingly quick at the green light. The transmission shifts at precisely the right time.
It uses no oil between changes.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a 1972 Custom 500, all original, with the 351 Cleveland and automatic, 148k miles, bought 5 years ago. Probably the last one on the road. Same as the Galaxie pretty much. Other than oil changes, spark plugs, lube and wax I haven't had to do anything else and I drive it every week. Has been reliable with no problems, has plenty of power and drives like a Cadillac. I would agree with the ratings given.
