1983 Ford Granada 2.0 liter from Sweden

Faults:

The exhaust.

1 ball bearing.

Shock absorbers.

Ventiltätningar.

Not much more.

General Comments:

Not a quick car, the engine is too weak.

The seats very comfortable, better than Mercedes.

Good paintwork.

No rust.

It just started every time. Never failed to start.

Good heat in the coupe.

The heater fan failed once, but was so easy to change so I did it myself in 5-10 minutes.

The clutch never failed 260 000 km.

I must say this is the best car I ever had in my life.

Cheap car to run.

400 000 km when I sold the car.

The car had traveled 670 000 km when it was scrapped.

If I could buy a new one, I would do it.

1983 Ford Granada Ghia X 2.8 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Built like a tank and as solid as rock

General Comments:

Bought an 83A Granada for £900 in September 1992, previous car was a 77S Lada Riva which was quite good, but no fun.

The Granada was hardly fun, but it was comfortable, solid and reliable. It gave me a decade of loyal service before I sold it for £25 to a 17-year-old. It was perfect.

I now own a 97R Peugeot 406 1.8 which is a bit flimsy and not as good as the Granada.

The Granada was not the ultimate driving tool, but it gave sterling service for 10 years.
