1994 Ford Maverick Base 2.7 TD from UK and Ireland
Summary:
A dog of a vehicle
Faults:
Front swivels failed and replaced at 40000, new battery and fuel pump at 42000.
General Comments:
Big and comfy but dire economy (23 miles per gallon). Swivels fail regularly according to the dealer. Hopeless dealer service by people who couldn't care less.

I have a 1994 Maverick SWB 2.7 TD. 120 thousand on the clock. I bought it 5 years ago for 600 pound with 6 months MOT.
I thought that was a bit steep at the time, but now it's got over 200 thou on the clock and I've only had to replace the water pump. That only took an hour and it's cost me nothing to run on second hand veg oil, 2nd hand tyres and some cheap engine oil I get from work. Now I have put a agricultural farm tractor tax on it and now costs nothing to tax and is MOT exempt, I won't spend anything on it and won't stop driving it until it breaks in two.
I've been given another for spares so it will last another 5 years. Totally reliable and good off road. Best value 4x4 on the market.
