I had the idle speed noise cure on my Mondeo 130 TDCI by Moff Motors of Castle Cary in Somerset. They said it was a problem known to Ford and a mod kit of auxiliary drive belts and pulley wheels is available from Ford and can be fixed under warranty. Apparently, at a certain engine speed, one of the drive belts for the alternator/power steering pump (can't remember which) tends to move slightly from side to side and creates a 'rumble' type noise.
Problem totally cured!!!
